On March 30, a screening of a film dedicated to the Armenian church of Novi Sad, along with a presentation of its 3D model, took place at the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade.
The event featured speeches by the film’s author, Snežana Mijić, as well as by the screenwriter and historian Vladimir Petrović. The screening was attended by Hayk Khemchyan, Counsellor and Head of the Belgrade Office of the Embassy of Armenia in Prague.
The Armenian Church of Saint Gregory the Illuminator in Novi Sad, built in 1746, was demolished in 1963 due to the expansion of the city’s main street. Since 1993, an Armenian khachkar has been erected at the site of the church, dedicated to the pilots of the Yugoslav aircraft that crashed in Armenia following the 1988 Spitak earthquake.
The reconstructed 3D model of the church is available at the following link: https://ns-crkva.netlify.app/
