On November 12, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian participated in the Euronews Adria Summit in Belgrade, which was also attended by the Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister Đuro Macut, Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, directors of several major Serbian companies, and Ambassadors accredited in Serbia. During the opening ceremony of the summit, Ambassador Hovakimian had a brief conversation with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić.

During the summit, Ambassador Hovakimian, together with the Ambassadors of Japan, Israel, Portugal, and the Czech Republic to Serbia, took part in a panel discussion broadcast live on Euronews Serbia. In his remarks, he touched upon Armenian-Serbian relations as well as a number of international and regional issues. The Ambassador presented the “Crossroads of Peace” project developed by the Government of Armenia.

On November 13, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian visited the “Belgrade Fortress” company, which manages the Kalemegdan Fortress in Belgrade, and met with its director, Nemanja Šegrt. During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the preservation and proper presentation of Armenian heritage within the fortress area, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the academic field.
