Commemorative event dedicated to the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Montenegro

On April 23, on the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian attended the memorial service dedicated to the victims of the Mets Yeghern in the Saint Sava Orthodox Church in Tivat, Montenegro. At the end of the ceremony, the Ambassador made a speech, emphasizing the role of the re-created Armenian community of Montenegro in organizing the ceremony, as well as the installation of the Armenian khachkar near the church entrance in the near future. The Ambassador thanked the priests of the Church of Saint Sava for expressing solidarity and support to the Armenian people. The Ambassador also had a meeting with the newly elected president of the Armenian community of Montenegro Vahe Hanesyan and members of the community.

On the same day, at the invitation of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro Andrija Mandić, the Ambassador attended the opening ceremony of the session of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Francophonie in Podgorica. The Ambassador had brief talks with the Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament Andrija Mandić, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Filip Ivanović, the members of the observer delegations of the Montenegrin and Serbian Parliaments in the Francophonie Parliamentary Assembly, the French Ambassador to Montenegro.
