On April 18-19, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian was on a working visit to Serbia.

The Ambassador of Armenia was received by the Vice President of the National Assembly of Serbia and the Chairperson of the Committee for Foreign Affairs Marina Raguš, and the Acting Assistant Minister for Bilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Tamara Rastovac Siamašvili.

During the meetings, the Ambassador informed about the existing security situation in the South Caucasus and the efforts and approaches implemented by Armenia for the establishing peace and stability in the region, which are based on unequivocal respect for the principles of territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, and sovereignty.

Possibilities to activate the political dialogue between Armenia and Serbia, to exchange high-level visits, and to cooperate within the framework of European Union programs were discussed. During the meeting in the Parliament of Serbia, the necessity of revitalizing inter-parliamentary relations was noted on both sides, both on bilateral and international parliamentary platforms.

On April 18, at the initiative of the French Ambassador to Serbia Pierre Cochard, a working lunch was held in honor of the Armenian Ambassador to Serbia, with the participation of a number of Ambassadors of the European Union member states, during which the Ambassador Hovakimian presented the security situation of Armenia, its relations with the European Union and Serbia, answered the questions of his colleagues.

On the same day, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian attended the opening ceremony of the European Boxing Championship in Belgrade, meeting and wishing the good luck to the athletes and coaches of the Armenian national team.
