Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian met with the Chairman of Croatia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia Davor Ivo Stier and the members of the Group

On December 15, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian met in Zagreb with the Chairman of Croatia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia Davor Ivo Stier and the members of the Group. Member of the Group, Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Davorko Vidović also participated in the meeting.

Possibilities of the further development of relations with the Armenia-Croatia Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, cooperation in the international parliamentary platforms in the complex regional situation were discussed.

On the same day, Ambassador Hovakimian was received in Ljubljana by the State Secretary for National and International Security of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Andrej Benedejčič. Issues of regional security, opportunities for cooperation in international organisations were discussed during the meeting.

At the meeting with the Head of the newly created Slovenia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia Dean Premik and the members of the Group, the consistency of relations with the Armenia-Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the cooperation in the international parliamentary platforms in the complex regional situation, as well as the possibility of holding an online meeting between the two Groups in the near future were discussed.

During the meeting with the Director-General of the Directorate for Common Foreign and Security Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Mateja Norčič Štamcar and the Head of the Department for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, Central Asia and the Arctic Berta Mrak, the prospects for the activation of bilateral relations, including the organisation of high-level visits, developments in the South Caucasus and the Western Balkans, and cooperation on international platforms were discussed.

At the meetings Ambassador Hovakimian presented the consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression of September 13-14 on the sovereign territory of Armenia and of the Azerbaijan's blocking of the movement through the Lachin Corridor, stressing that Artsakh is facing the threat of a humanitarian crisis. Ambassador Hovakimian emphasized, that the actions of Azerbaijani leadership, warmongering rhetoric and maximalist approach seriously endanger the possibility of achieving peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
