Ambassador to Serbia Ashot Hovakimian met with Serbian state officials

On December 13, Ambassador to Serbia Ashot Hovakimian was received by the Minister of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia Tanja Miščević. The parties exchanged information on their relations with the European Union, discussed the prospects of possible cooperation.

On December 14, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian was received by the Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of the Republic of Serbia Miloš Vučević.

Ambassador Hovakimian presented the consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression of September 13-14 on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and the situation created as a result of the steps taken by Azerbaijan to disrupt the normal functioning of the Lachin Corridor and the dangers arising from it; he emphasized that Azerbaijan's overarching approaches to the use of force or the threat of force undermine regional stability and are the main factors undermining security.

On the same day Ambassador Hovakimian had a meeting with the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Serbia Zoran Gajić. The possibilities of the development of Armenian-Serbian relations in the field of sports, the organization of sports camps, seminars for coaches, the exchange of knowledge in various sports branches, the cooperation between the Olympic Committees of the two countries were discussed. Negotiations on the draft memorandum on cooperation between the two countries are in the final stage, which is expected to be signed in 2023.

Ambassador Hovakimian also had a meeting with the Minister of Health of the Republic of Serbia Danica Grujičić. Ambassador presented to the interlocutor the priorities of Armenian healthcare sector and the reform process; potential directions of cooperation were discussed.
