Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Serbia Ashot Hovakimian was received by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Orlić

On December 13, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Serbia Ashot Hovakimian was received by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Orlić.

Ambassador Hovakimian and Vladimir Orlić discussed the prospects of development of cooperation in the bilateral sphere and multilateral parliamentary platforms.

At the meeting with the Head of the Serbia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Serbia Aleksandar Čotrić and the members of the Group, the possibilities of enhancement of relations with the Armenia-Serbia Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the cooperation in the international parliamentary platforms in the complex regional situation were discussed.

During the meeting with the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Borko Stefanović, the development of relations with the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and the prospects of cooperation in the framework of international parliamentary organisations were discussed.

During all the meetings Ambassador Hovakimian presented the consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression of September 13-14 on the sovereign territory of Armenia and of the Azerbaijan's blocking of the movement through the Lachin Corridor, stressing that Artsakh is facing the threat of a humanitarian crisis. Ambassador Hovakimian emphasized, that the actions of Azerbaijani leadership, warmongering rhetoric and maximalist approach seriously endanger the possibility of achieving peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
