On June 21-24, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian paid a working visit to Slovenia.

In the Parliament the Ambassador was received by the newly elected President of the National Assembly Urška Klakočar Zupančič and the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations Predrag Baković. During the meetings, the possibilities of reestablishing the friendship group with Armenia in the new Slovenian Parliament, activating parliamentary ties on bilateral and multilateral platforms, and mutual bilateral visits were discussed.

In the Slovenian Foreign Ministry, the Ambassador had meetings with the State Secretary Marko Štucin, Director-General of the Directorate for Multilateral Affairs and Development Cooperation Eva Tomič, Head of the Department for Bled Strategic Forum Peter Grk, Head of the Department for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, Central Asia and the Arctic Berta Mrak. A wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda was discussed in detail, including the implementation of high-level visits, cooperation in international platforms, holding political consultations and upcoming steps aimed at further development of relations.

On June 21, the Ambassador took part in the ceremonial opening of the Ljubljana Music Festival, and on June 24 in the State Celebration of the Slovene National Day.
