Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian paid a working visit to Zagreb

On December 3, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Hovakimian met with Davor Ivo Stier, Head of the Croatia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Croatian Sabor (Parliament), and other members of the Group. The parties highly assessed the dynamics of the development of bilateral relations, stressing the importance of holding such meetings on frequent bases as well as stressing the need of having high-level bilateral visits.

The Ambassador informed that the Armenia-Croatia Parliamentary Friendship Group has already been reorganized in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, expressing hope that effective cooperation will be established between the groups. Mr. Stier expressed his readiness to organize an online meeting between the two groups in the near future.

At the request of the members of the Croatia-Armenia Parliamentary friendship group, Ambassador presented in detail the consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression, the current course of negotiations, as well as the situation on the Armenian border and the latest developments.

In the evening of the same day, a concert under the honorary auspices of the Ambassador of Armenia was held at the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia. The world-famous pianist Ruben Dalibaltayan performed works of Komitas, Arno Babajanyan and Aram Khachaturian. After the concert, a reception was organized by the Embassy with the participation of the officials from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, members of the Parliament, diplomats, culture and science figures, Croatian-Armenian compatriots.
