Working visit of the inter-agency delegation of the Republic of Armenia, which was formed for the aim of holding consultations on the launch of a Visa Liberalization Dialogue with the EU

07 May, 2020

On February 5-7, an inter-agency delegation of the Republic of Armenia headed by the Head of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Armen Ghazaryan, which was formed for the aim of holding consultations on the launch of a Visa Liberalization Dialogue with the EU, arrived in Prague with a working visit. Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian was accompanying the delegation.
Within the consultations on the possibilities of launching the Visa Liberalization Dialogue the delegation was received by the Deputy Minister of Interior of the Czech Republic Jakub Kulhánek, the Junior Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Legal and Consular Affairs and Head of the Visa Department David Nový. During the meetings the parties discussed the entire scope of the migration policy between Armenia and the Czech Republic, touched upon the prospects for cooperation and further endeavors. Both sides positively evaluated the consultations in terms of experience exchange, the approximation of Armenia’s migration policy to that of the EU and finding common ground for overcoming obstacles.
Within the frameworks of the working visit the Head of the Europe Department of the MFA of Armenia Tigran Samvelian was received by Jaroslav Kurfürst, the Special Envoy of the Czech MFA for the Eastern Partnership. During the meeting the counterparts shared insights on Armenia-EU relations, the Eastern Partnership and its future.
