A Wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Armenian Khachkar in Belgrade in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide

On April 22, in Belgrade, on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Armenian khachkar located in front of the Church of Saint Archangel Gabriel Church in Zemun Park, in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Damjan Jović, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of Serbia, Zoran Antić, the member of the Serbian Parliament Staša Stojanović, the Ambassadors of France, Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus, and Lebanon to Serbia, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Canada, diplomats from the Embassies of Germany, Ukraine, Netherlands, the Russian Federation, and United Nations office, numerous Serbian Armenians, and Serbian friends of Armenia. The event was organized jointly by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Serbia, the Armenian National Community in Serbia, the Armenian Association of Vrnjačka Banja, and the Armenian-Serbian Heritage Association “ANI.”

Ashot Hovakimian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia, and the Secretary General of the Serbian MFA on behalf of the Government of Serbia, as well as representatives of Embassies and Armenian organizations, laid wreaths and flowers at the khachkar. The Armenian Ambassador addressed the attendees with a message dedicated to the significance of the day.
