The Ambassador hosted the Armenian pair competing at the World Figure Skating Championships in Prague

27 March, 2026
On March 27, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian and his wife hosted the figure skating pair Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin, who represented Armenia at the World Figure Skating Championships held in Prague, where they took 8th place, recording the highest result in the history of Armenian figure skating.
The sports pair representing Armenia, finishing among the top ten at the World Championships for the first time, has earned for Armenia the opportunity to present another pair in the next World Championships, as well as secured two entries in the senior Grand Prix series. The meeting was also attended by the figure skater of the Armenian national team Semyon Danielyants.
The Ambassador warmly congratulated the athletes for their high results and wished them new achievements in the near future.
The Ambassador's congratulations were joined by Monika Arsine Harutjunjan, winner of the "Miss Armenia 2026" national beauty pageant and three-time Czech figure skating champion, who was invited to the meeting as a special guest.
