On October 12-13, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian was on a working visit to Serbia.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Ambassador was received by the Acting Assistant Minister for Bilateral Cooperation Irena Šarac, the Acting Assistant Minister for Multilateral Cooperation Milan Milanović and the Director of the Department for Russia and Eurasia Vladimir Jovičić.

During the meetings, the necessity of revitalizing the political dialogue between Armenia and Serbia, organizing high-level visits, and expanding the economic and cultural agenda was noted on both sides.

The Ambassador presented to the Serbian interlocutors in detail the situation created as a result of the large-scale military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 19 and the massive forced displacement and the ethnic cleansing of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and emphasized the importance of an equivalent international assessment in overcoming humanitarian challenges.

The Ambassador also had a meeting with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia Marko Čadež. The possibility of the visit of the Serbian trade mission to Armenia in the near future was discussed. The Serbian side expressed interest in establishing a TUMO center in Serbia.
