Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian paid a working visit to Plzeň Region of Czechia

On February 21, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian paid a working visit to Plzeň Region of Czechia and was received by the Governor of the region Rudolf Špoták, who presented a general overview of the region, the main spheres of economic, scientific and cultural development. The Ambassador informed about the Armenian-Czech bilateral agenda, the good experience of interregional cooperation between Armenia and Czechia, the latest developments around Armenia and Artsakh, and the difficult humanitarian situation as result of the blockade of Lachin Corridor. The parties discussed the possibilities to further expand cooperation between Plzeň Region and Armenian partners and outlined the upcoming projects.

The Vice-rector of the University of West Bohemia Blanka Šedivá, who was present at the meeting, briefed on the structure and objectives of the University. The Ambassador presented the interlocutors the details of the active cooperation with Czech universities, the ways of establishing relations between the University of West Bohemia and Armenian Universities, the prospects of implementing joint programs in the field of Armenian studies were considered.

During the visit, the Ambassador, accompanied by the Vice-rector of the University of West Bohemia Blanka Šedivá visited the "Techmania" Science center in Plzeň, where he got acquainted with the activities of the center and the implemented programs, discussed the prospects of establishing cooperation with Armenian scientific centers and experience exchange.
