Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina Ashot Hovakimian (with residence in Prague) presented his credentials to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović

On October 21, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina Ashot Hovakimian (with residence in Prague) presented his credentials to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović.

Džaferović wished success to the newly appointed Ambassador, expressing his belief that the bilateral political dialogue, economic and cultural ties will develop.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Hovakimian reaffirmed his commitment to make active efforts in order to contribute to the development of relations between the two countries and their cooperation in international organizations. The Ambassador congratulated Bosnia and Herzegovina on the perspective to get in the near future the EU candidate status.

Ambassador presented the realities following the Artsakh war, the current situation and existing challenges, the consequences of the September aggression by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. In response, Džaferović stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina has always been a supporter of the peaceful settlement of the conflicts in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter.

Before the ceremony, the Ambassador Hovakimian handed over a copy of his credentials to Ensar Eminović, director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador was also received by the Assistant Minister for Bilateral Relations Ljubo Grković, with whom the prospects of activation of political dialogue were discussed, in particular, the need for the first time to hold political consultations between the two Ministries.

Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian visited the Sarajevo City Hall, where he had a meeting with the Mayor Benjamina Karić regarding the establishment of partnership relations between Yerevan and Sarajevo.
