On August 20-28, the 26th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICОМ) was held in Prague under the theme of "The Power of Museums", which was attended by representatives from 115 countries, among which by the delegation of the ICOM National Committee of Armenia, headed by its President Hayk Mkrtchyan.

On August 23, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian hosted the candidate and the next day elected President of ICOM Emma Nardi and the delegation of the Armenian National ICOM Committee. The parties held fruitful discussions on the activity of ICOM and cooperation within its framework, the role of museums in the formulation of cultural policy, future plans and prospects for cooperation.
