On April 22-24 events dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide took place in the Czech cities of Jihlava, Brno and Prague

The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic and the Armenian Apostolic Church in the Czech Republic, with the participation of the Armenian community in the Czech Republic, organized a number of events dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, which were held in the Czech cities of Jihlava, Brno and Prague on April 22-24.

On April 22, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Hovakimian and the Spiritual Pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary Archimandrite Barsegh Pilavchyan laid a wreath at the Khachkar (cross-stone) in Jihlava in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

On April 23, at the Cathedral of the Savior in Brno, the Spiritual Pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary Archimandrite Barsegh Pilavchyan held a Liturgical Service in remembrance of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Hovakimian, an MP representing the region, the representatives of the Armenian Community of Brno and Czech friends of the Armenian people.

On April 24, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Armenian Khachkar in Prague, followed by a Liturgical Service held at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Prague by the Spiritual Pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary Archimandrite Barsegh Pilavchyan in remembrance of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide. A musical performance took place afterwards with the participation of soprano Varine Mkrtchyan and pianists Yevgenia Vorobyeva and Marat Khachaturyan, during which, among other compositions, the works of Komitas were presented as well. Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian addressed those present at the event with a message dedicated to the symbolism of the day.

The Prague events were attended by the Special envoy of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic, representatives of parliamentary, public-academic and friendly circles, the diplomatic corps and the Armenian community.
