Bilateral Relations

General information

Armenian-Czech intergovernmental cooperation dates back to 1992, when the diplomatic relations between Armenia and Czechoslovakia were established. Later, after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, Armenia established diplomatic relations with the Czech Republic.

The Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was established in 2014. There were three sessions of the Commission since that – the first one in 2014 in Yerevan, the second one in 2016 in Prague, and the third one in 2017 in Yerevan and the fourth one in 2018 in Prague.

On 21 February 2019 Ashot Hovakimian, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic handed over his credentials to President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman.

On January 24, 2023 Petr Piruncik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan.
