The reception dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia was held in the historical hall of the Strahov Monastery in Prague

On September 19, the reception dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia was held in the historical hall of the Strahov Monastery in Prague. Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Marian and Eduard Hulicius, Chairman of the Committee on Security of Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Czechia Pavel Žáček, the former leader of the Czech Catholic Church Cardinal Dominik Duka, Heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the Czech Republic, representatives of both chambers of the Czech Parliament, as well as figures from scientific, cultural, public circles, representatives of the Armenian community were present at the event.

Ambassador of Armenia to Czechia Ashot Hovakimian and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Czechia Jan Marian addressed the attendees. In his speech, the Ambassador referred to Armenia’s foreign policy priorities, security agenda issues, and Armenian-Czech bilateral relations based on shared values and mutual respect.

In his address, Deputy Minister Jan Marian emphasized the strong and enduring bilateral relations between Armenia and Czechia, reaffirmed Czechia's support for the reforms being implemented in Armenia, and Armenia's efforts to strengthen ties with the European Union, as well as the Czech Republic's commitment to establishing stability and security in the South Caucasus, with belief that a democratic Armenia is the key to peaceful and prosperous future in the region.

The reception began with the national anthems of Armenia and Czechia, performed by the talented Armenian soprano Varine Mkrtchyan.
