Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian had a working visit to the Ústecký region of the Czech Republic

On August 10, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian had a working visit to the Ústecký region of the Czech Republic, where the Ambassador was received by the Governor of the region Jan Schiller. The Governor presented the description of the region and the main directions of economic development; the issues of self-organization of the Armenians living in the region, cooperation perspectives for the purpose of disseminating information about Armenia and Armenian culture were discussed.

On the same day, the Ambassador was received by the Mayor of Ústí nad Labem Petr Nedvědický. The interlocutors discussed the possibilities of further activation of cooperation between the city and Armenia in scientific, economic, cultural fields and the possibility of experience exchange in the framework of the "Green City" project implemented in Ústí nad Labem.

During the meeting with the Mayor of Litoměřice Radek Löwy, the interlocutors discussed the historical relations of the two countries and outlined the future prospects of cooperation, in particular, the possibility of organizing an exhibition dedicated to the Armenian historical and cultural heritage, attractions and famous personalities in the city.

During the meetings, the Ambassador presented to the interlocutors the details of the humanitarian crisis unfolded in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, which has been ongoing for almost 8 months, and emphasized the need for targeted calls by international partners and the imperative to take joint steps to resolve the humanitarian situation.
