Ambassador of Armenia to Serbia Ashot Hovakimian delivered a lecture entitled "Armenia: Challenges and the Way Forward" at the Institute of European Studies in Belgrade

On September 26, on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador of Armenia to Serbia Ashot Hovakimian delivered a lecture entitled "Armenia: Challenges and the Way Forward" at the Institute of European Studies in Belgrade. Taking into account the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Armenia on September 13, the Ambassador, while displaying maps and photo-material, mainly referred to the consequences of the aggression, the crimes committed against Armenian soldiers and civilians. He presented the damage caused to the settlements and infrastructures of Armenia, emphasizing the need for a targeted response to Azerbaijan's actions and demands for the elimination of the consequences of this aggression.

In his speech and answering to the various questions of the participants, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian spoke of the threats and challenges to Armenia's security and development, the bilateral relations between Armenia and Serbia, the agenda of democracy and reforms in Armenia and Armenia's policy towards the neighboring countries and big powers, whilst presenting his vision for the future and the ways to move forward. The lecture was broadcasted online and was covered by a number of influential Serbian news agencies and the press.
