On October 1-17, the extensive Armenian program, presented within the "Moravian Autumn" Brno music festival, was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Armenia's independence and was held under the honorary patronage of the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimian.

The festival and its program dedicated to Armenia were presented in detail on September 7 during a joint press conference by Managing Director of the Brno Philharmonic Marie Kučerová, Festival Manager Lucie Šnajdrová, Programme Director dramaturg Vítězslav Mikeš and the Armenian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimian. Touching upon the Armenian theme of the festival, Marie Kučerová highly praised Armenian classical music and underscored the cultural connections between the Czech Republic and Armenia, at the same time emphasizing the fact of this way expressing support for Armenia, which has recently underwent through war and joining in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Armenia's independence.

The Armenian program at the festival was launched on October 10 with the screening of the documentary "From the Depths of the Soul-Foray through the Musical landscape of Armenia” by Anne-Kathrin Peitz and the presentation of the work “Miatsoom” (Reunion) by American-Armenian composer Charles Amirkhanian. On the same day the Armenian Naghash Ensemble led by John Hodian made a brilliant performance of the "Songs of Exile" series. On October 14, the Cello Octet Amsterdam and pianist Maki Namekava performed the piece "Lousadzak " by the famous American-Armenian composer Alan Hovhannes.

The concluding concert of the festival took place on October 17 with the unprecedented performance of the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra led by maestro Eduard Topchyan, during which the masterpieces of Tigran Mansuryan, Avet Terterian and Aram Khachaturian were presented to the audience.

At the beginning of the concert the Director of the Brno Philharmonic Marie Kučerová, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimian, the Governor of the South Moravian Region Jan Grolich and the Deputy Mayor of the City of Brno in charge of cultural affairs Tomáš Koláčný addressed the audience with welcoming remarks. The hosts welcomed the presentation of such an extensive Armenian program within the framework of the festival. Marie Kučerová noted that although Armenia is geographically a small country, it is a superpower in terms of music, whilst Jan Grolich signified the fact that Armenian culture was presented in the region. Ambassador Hovakimian, in his turn, recorded with satisfaction the fact of Armenian music being presented in such an extensive scope within the framework of the festival, at the same time noting the symbolic nature of such a program, especially within the framework of the 30th anniversary of Armenia's independence. He thanked the organizers for such initiatives, for their support to Armenia and for their fruitful collaboration.

After the concert on behalf of the Embassy of Armenia a reception was held for the honorary guests.
