Events within the framework of the celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia

On October 7, within the framework of the 30th International Festival of Ethnographic Film, in the Ethnographic Museum of Serbia, in cooperation with the "Apricot Tree" Film Festival, the special program of the Armenian Film was presented under the honorary patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia. The program was opened by Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian. During the day, five Armenian ethnographic films were shown to the audience. Before the screening, the lecture of the famous Armenian film director, film critic Garegin Zakoyan, dedicated to the life and work of Sergey Parajanov, took place.

On October 8, within the framework of the celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Serbia and the publishing house "Pešić and sons" organized the "Day of Armenia" in the famous Aeroclub in Belgrade. The presentation of the Serbian edition of Movses Khorenatsi's "Armenian History" took place. Welcoming remarks were made by the director of "Pešić and sons" publishing house Vesna Pešić and the Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian. The presentation was moderated by poet, translator, Honorary Consul of Serbia in Armenia Babken Simonyan, speeches were made by the Director of the Institute of History of National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Academician Ashot Melkonyan and Corresponding Member of the Academy, Doctor of Philology, Professor Aelita Dolukhanyan. Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian gave a reception with the wide participation of political and cultural figures, scientists and representatives of the Serbian-Armenian community.
