President of the Republic of Armenia Sent an Appreciation Letter to His Czech Counterpart

President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan sent an appreciation letter to the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman upon the adoption by the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic of a Resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide. President Sargsyan`s letter reads:

“Your Excellency,

I was overwhelmed by the feeling of deep appreciation receiving the news on the adoption of the resolution on the Recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

With this regard I would like to thank Your Excellency personally for being consistent in persuading the Members of the Parliament of the Chamber of Deputies to condemn this vicious crime committed against humanity. This step of Yours and of elected representatives of friendly Czech people was yet another action of unconditional adherence towards high values of democracy, human rights and justice.

I would like to thank You also for Your letter of sympathy to the Armenian community of the Czech Republic and to Armenians worldwide, on April 24.

Honourable Mr. President, I wish You and friendly Czech people happiness and prosperity."
