On September 1, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian hosted the Czech famous Economist and Politician, the Professor and the former Rector of the Brno Mendel University, Presidential candidate in the Czech presidential elections of 2022, candidate from Mayors and Independents "STAN" party in the 2024 European Parliament elections Danuše Nerudová.

The possibilities of establishing and expanding cooperation between Brno Mendel University and Armenian partners were discussed. The Ambassador briefed Danuše Nerudová on the humanitarian crisis and human rights violations in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, as well as the security situation created in the region as a result of Azerbaijan's periodic encroachments against the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and bellicose rhetoric.
