The ceremonial opening of the exhibition "Ahoj Arménie, Բարև Չեխիա", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Czechia took place at the National Library of the Czech Republic (Klementinum)

On April 4, at the National Library of the Czech Republic (Klementinum) the ceremonial opening of the exhibition "Ahoj Arménie, Բարև Չեխիա", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Czechia, and organized by the Embassy of Armenia in the Czech Republic and the National Library of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with the University of Pardubice and the Slavic Union, took place. The event was attended by the Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Dvořák, Czech Deputy Minister of Culture Ondřej Chrást, Senators Pavel Fischer and Zbyněk Linhart, representatives of political, social and cultural spheres of the Czech Republic, Director of the National Library of Armenia Anna Chulyan, Prelate of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the Czech Republic Barsegh Pilavchyan, representatives of the Armenian community in the Czech Republic. At the beginning of the event, the talented Armenian soprano Varine Mkrtchyan performed a brilliant and exciting rendition of Komitas' "Apricot Tree" and Czech "Teče voda, teče" songs.

Director of the National Library of the Czech Republic Tomáš Foltýn, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Dvořák, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimian, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of Pardubice University Jiří Kubeš, Director of the National Library of Armenia Anna Chulyan made opening remarks at the event. The dynamic development of relations built on the common values and respect for human rights, democracy and freedom during the 30 years of cooperation between Armenia and the Czech Republic was emphasized. It was noted that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and cultural diplomacy will serve as a basis for the deepening of the Armenian-Czech relations and strengthening ties between the societies of the two countries.

The exhibition, which presents the rich history of Armenia, photos of the natural and cultural sites of Armenia, portraits of the prominent Armenian personalities, the results of the archaeological excavations carried out in Armenia by the University of Pardubice, books and materials on Armenia, stored in the National Library, will be open until May 16th.
