The delegation of the Republic of Armenia participated in the “Eastern Partnership Business Forum: Geo-economic Challenges and Opportunities”, convened in Prague under the Czech presidency of the EU

On October 17-18, the delegation of the Republic of Armenia, led by the Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan participated in the “Eastern Partnership Business Forum: Geo-economic Challenges and Opportunities”, convened in Prague under the Czech presidency of the EU. The delegation comprised of Deputy Minister of Economy Armen Arzumanyan, Mane Adamyan- the Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ambassador of Armenia to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimian.

At the ministerial panel on how to enhance economic ties with the EU and the resilience of Eastern Partners, the Minister of Economy of Armenia presented a wide range of the most important aspects related to Armenia’s economic development and the challenges in the field, which was followed by another thematic discussion, where the Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister presented the implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and the vectors of Armenia-EU economic cooperation, including current projects under the EU Economic and Investment plan, addressing as well a number of issues related to the unblocking of regional transport routes. An extensive business delegation from Armenia, among which were representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises, TUMO Center for Creative Technologies and others, also took part in the conference, participating in the discussions held at the various thematic business break-out sessions.

Within the framework of the conference, Ambassador A. Hovakimian conducted talks with a number of officials from the Czech Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, where ideas were exchanged on the future of the Eastern Partnership and the security situation in the region.
