On April 24, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian participated in the funeral ceremony of the famous Czech journalist, writer, publicist, senator, and member of the European Parliament, Jaromír Štětina. In his speech, the Ambassador, on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian community of the Czech Republic, paid tribute to the memory of Jaromir Štetina and expressed gratitude for his friendship, loyalty, constant support and principal stance towards Armenia and the Armenian people.

The Ambassador presented to Jaromír Štětina's son, Jiří, the letters of condolence from the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, and the Head of the Armenia-Czech Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group, Artur Hovhannisyan.
