Event in Belgrade on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

On April 22, in Belgrade, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the wreath laying ceremony in memoriam to the victims of the Armenian Genocide took place at the Armenian Khachkar (cross-stone) in Zemun Park, in front of the Church of Saint Archangel Gabriel.

During the ceremony, the Armenian Ambassador addressed the attendees with a message dedicated to the significance of the day. Among those present and laying wreaths and flowers at the memorial were Jovan Janjić, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, the Ambassadors of the Czech Republic, Greece, and Cyprus to Serbia, the Chargé d'affaires of the Canadian Embassy, diplomats from the Embassies of France, Germany, the Russian Federation, and Ukraine, as well as many members of the Serbian-Armenian community and friends of Armenia in Serbia.

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Romania, the Pontifical Delegate to the Balkan countries Bishop Tatev Hakobyan and Bishop of Toplice Petar Bogdanović were present and prayed at the ceremony.

Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian and the President of the Union of Armenians in Vrnjačka Banja Čedomir Artinović, representatives of Embassies and organizations laid wreaths and flowers on the Khachkar. The Ambassador Hovakimian addressed those present with a message dedicated to the council of the day.
