Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian was received by the Mayor of Novi Sad Milan Đurić

On December 19, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian was received by the Mayor of Novi Sad Milan Đurić. The meeting focused on issues related to cooperation between the cities of Novi Sad and Gyumri. The Ambassador presented developments in the Armenian-Serbian bilateral agenda and Armenia's efforts toward establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus.

Following the meeting, Ambassador Hovakimian and Deputy Mayor Aleksandar Petrović laid flowers at the Khachkar located in the city center, on the site of the former Armenian church. The Khachkar commemorates the Serbian pilots who lost their lives delivering humanitarian aid to Armenia during the 1988 Spitak earthquake. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Serbian-Armenian community, relatives of the pilots, and members of the management and fans of the Armenian "Noah" football club, who were in Novi Sad that day.

Later the same day, Ambassador Hovakimian attended the UEFA Conference League football match between "TSC" and "Noah" in Bačka Topola. Prior to the match, the Ambassador met with Bačka Topola’s Mayor Adrián Szatmári.
