Paying tribute and wreath-laying ceremonies in Belgrade and Novi Sad in memoriam of the Serb pilots who were perished in the crash of the aircraft which was delivering assistance to Armenia after the devastating Spitak earthquake of 1988

12 December, 2021

On December 12, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian, in a solemn ceremony of the honorary Guard of the Serbian Air Force and Air Defense, paid tribute and laid a wreath at the Armenian khachkar in Zemun, in memoriam of the Serb pilots Vladimir Erčić, Predrag Marinković, Milenko Simić, Milan Mićić, Boriša Mosurović, Milisav Petrović i Jovan Zisov who were perished in the crash of the aircraft which was delivering assistance to Armenia after the devastating Spitak earthquake of 1988.

The relatives of the pilots, deputies of the Serbian Parliament, representatives of the Armenian community and friends of Armenia were present at the ceremony.

Afterwards the Ambassador visited the city of Novi Sad and paid a tribute and laid a wreath in memoriam of the Serb pilots at the Armenian khachkar located in the center of the Novi Sad, on the ground of the former Armenian Church.
