Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Hovakimian participated, through online platform, in a conference entitled "Through National Memory Against the Revision of History"

On December 9, on the occasion of the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Hovakimian participated, through online platform, in a conference jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological development of Serbia and the University of Belgrade entitled "Through National Memory Against the Revision of History".

In his speech, Ambassador presented the history of the Armenian Genocide, the steps towards its international recognition, Armenia's role in the global efforts to prevent the Genocide, the consequences of Genocide denial and impunity, the importance of Genocide education, the collective efforts and the Armenian experience in this regard, as well as mass atrocities carried out against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh during the military aggression unleashed on September 27, 2020, which was planned and implemented by Azerbaijan with the full political and military support of Turkey and the involvement of foreign mercenaries and terrorist fighters.
