The meetings of Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Harutyunyan in Prague

On November 24-25, while paying a working visit to the Czech Republic, Robert Harutyunyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, had meetings with Jan Mládek, Minister of Industry and Trade, and Martin Tlapa, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, and some other high-ranking officials.

During the meetings with Minister Mládek and Deputy Minister Tlapa, issues related to the economic diplomacy and development of the Armenian-Czech trade and economic ties were discussed. Robert Harutyunyan and Martin Tlapa, the author of the current concept of the economic diplomacy of the Czech Republic, which has registered a significant success, agreed to organize an experience exchange course for the Armenian colleagues.

Robert Harutyunyan briefed his Czech partners on the new opportunities and favourable conditions for the economic development of Armenia and for foreign investments after the country’s accession to the EAEU, stressing that the Armenian products have an opportunity of privileged access to the EU countries. Thanks to the GSP+ trade regime Armenia has an opportunity to export products to the EU market with zero or significantly reduced customs duties.

Deputy Foreign Minister Harutyunyan also had meetings with Karel Bureš, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Czech Export Bank (ČEB), and Jan Procházka, General Director of the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP). The tools and mechanisms of financing possible investments in the Armenian economy or providing loans to beneficial transactions were discussed.

Regional issues, as well as the Armenian-Czech and the Armenia-EU relations were discussed with Radek Pech, the Head of the Northern and Eastern Europe Department of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Deputy Foreign Minister Harutyunyan also visited the Foodish s.r.o. company (ARAX trademark) located in the suburbs of Prague and owned by Karen Sargsyan (based in the Czech Republic). The interlocutors discussed perspectives of cooperation with the food industry enterprises of Armenia.

Tigran Seiranian, Ambassador of Armenia to the Czech Republic, participated in the meetings of the Deputy Foreign Minister.
